Easy-Bake Treacle Tart: A Shortcut Recipe


Konnichiwa! To all the aspiring chefs and food lovers. Chef Mikoto is going to teach you a shortcut recipe to make treacle tart at home in a jiffy. So tie your aprons and let's get baking.

Ingredients
For the Filling:
  • 1 cup         Golden Syrup (treacle)
  • 1                Lemon Zest & Juice
  • 1 cup         Breadcrumbs

For the pastry:
  • 1 pack       Pie Crust or Shortcut Pastry

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix the golden syrup, breadcrumbs, lemon zest, and lemon juice until well combined.
  3. Roll out the pie crust or shortcrust pastry and line a 9-inch (23 cm) tart tin with it. Trim any excess and crimp the edges. Prick the base of the pastry with a fork.
  4. Spread the filling mixture evenly over the pastry base.
  5. Bake the tart in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the filling is set and slightly golden.
  6. Allow the tart to cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
