Ingredients

For Filling:
  • 1 pound           Ground Beef/Turkey
  • 1 chopped       Onion
  • 2 minced         Garlic Cloves
  • 1 tbsp              Olive Oil
  • 1 can               Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp              Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp                Cumin
  • 1/2 tsp            Paprika
  • 1/4 tsp            Cayenne Pepper
  • To Taste          Salt & Pepper

For Assembly:
  • 8 small          Taco Shells/Tortillas
  • 1 cup             Shredded Lettuce
  • 1 cup             Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 cup             Sliced Jjalapeños
  • 1 cup             Sliced Avocado
  • 1 cup             Grated Cheese
  • 1  cup            Fresh Cilantro

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic and sauté until fragrant and translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add the ground beef or turkey to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes with green chilies, chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Simmer the mixture for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  4. While the spicy taco filling simmers, warm your taco shells or tortillas according to the package instructions.
  5. Assemble your tacos by spooning the spicy meat mixture into each shell. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, jalapeños, avocado slices, and any other toppings you desire.
