Simple Watermelon Jello
Konnichiwa! To all the aspiring chefs and food lovers. Chef Mikoto brings to you a simple delicious summer treat that is both simple and quick to make. So tie your aprons and let's get cooking.
Ingredients
- 1 small Watermelon
- 1 pack Flavored Gelatin
- 1 tbsp Unflavored Gelatin
- 1/4 cup Cold Water
- 1/4 cup Boiling Water
- 1-2 tbsp Sugar
Instructions
- Cut the watermelon in half lengthwise. Scoop out the flesh, leaving the rind intact. Blend the watermelon flesh until smooth.
- In a bowl, sprinkle the unflavored gelatin over the cold water and let it sit for a few minutes to bloom.
- Add the boiling water to the bloomed unflavored gelatin and stir until fully dissolved.
- Combine the flavored gelatin with the dissolved unflavored gelatin mixture. Stir well.
- Add the blended watermelon to the gelatin mixture and mix thoroughly. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding sugar if needed.
- Pour the mixture into the hollowed-out watermelon rind halves.
- Refrigerate for at least 4-6 hours, or until the jello is firm.
- Once set, slice into wedges and serve chilled.
