 Simple Watermelon Jello


Konnichiwa! To all the aspiring chefs and food lovers. Chef Mikoto brings to you a simple delicious summer treat that is both simple and quick to make. So tie your aprons and let's get cooking.

Ingredients

  • 1 small          Watermelon
  • 1 pack           Flavored Gelatin
  • 1 tbsp            Unflavored Gelatin
  • 1/4 cup         Cold Water
  • 1/4 cup         Boiling Water
  • 1-2 tbsp        Sugar

Instructions

  1. Cut the watermelon in half lengthwise. Scoop out the flesh, leaving the rind intact. Blend the watermelon flesh until smooth.
  2. In a bowl, sprinkle the unflavored gelatin over the cold water and let it sit for a few minutes to bloom.
  3. Add the boiling water to the bloomed unflavored gelatin and stir until fully dissolved.
  4. Combine the flavored gelatin with the dissolved unflavored gelatin mixture. Stir well.
  5. Add the blended watermelon to the gelatin mixture and mix thoroughly. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding sugar if needed.
  6. Pour the mixture into the hollowed-out watermelon rind halves.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 4-6 hours, or until the jello is firm.
  8. Once set, slice into wedges and serve chilled.
